Ian Kitchenham is a Managing Director and Investment Committee member at Decarbonization Partners. In this role, Ian leads commercial strategy and business development initiatives across the platform

Prior to Decarbonization Partners, Ian spent over a decade building BlackRock's global Alternatives and Private Markets business in roles including COO and Head of Strategy for Global Credit in Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, as a member of the Alternatives Global Executive team serving as COO of Alternatives for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong, and as Business Strategy Lead for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in London. Ian has also worked in BlackRock's Client Business and Cash Management groups.

Ian joined BlackRock in 2006, including his service with Barclays Global Investors (BGI) which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Ian earned a BSc degree, with honours, in Economic History from the London School of Economics, and completed a Master's degree, with distinction, in International and Public Affairs (specializing in international energy policy and US-China relations) from the University of Hong Kong, and also holds a Graduate Diploma in Law (UK) and the IMC certification.
