Kojo Ako-Asare is a Managing Director and Investment Committee member at Decarbonization Partners. In this role, Kojo leads investment sourcing, underwriting, execution and portfolio management.

Kojo holds a board seat at Ascend Elements (an advanced battery materials company) and a board observer position at Antora (thermal energy storage).

Prior to Decarbonization Partners, Kojo has served in various leadership roles in leading climate-focused organizations such as, Alphabet, GoogleX and Emerson Collective. Kojo has over two decades of transaction experience, including: principal investing, project finance, capital raising, M&A and real estate development. 

Kojo is a decorated US Marine Corp veteran who has served in Afghanistan’s Helmand province. He has earned graduate degrees from Columbia University in both Business Administration and International Affairs. He also holds a B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.
